TokuToku!

Nothing noteworthy happened yesterday during the day, as far as I remember. I got to experience carrying around umbrellas here though. Japan is very sensitive to the fact that you have to carry an umbrella around, so they offer a few services to make the burden easier for you. One way is to put your umbrella in an umbrella rack while you do whatever you need to do in the building. The other service they offer is having a special little bag dispenser where you put the umbrella in, and it puts an umbrella sized bag around your umbrella so the water doesn't drip everywhere. Pretty handy, Japan -- Pretty handy.

Convenience store was STILL out of phones. Lame, Japan. Lame.

We went to an orientation session about women's issues in Japan that was pretty lulz-worthy. We talked about girly problems, like about not having periods because of stress and all that jazz. We talked about gropers on trains and what to do them. We learned how to say "I'm on my period" in Japanese...awkward "repeat after me" times >_<; Just in case you're curious, it's "Seiri desu" or "Seiri ga arimasu." Two girls gave accounts about how we get ogled because we have big boobs...that sort of thing. As long as we travel in groups when we're out late at night, we should be fine though!

We went home pretty early, and waited for Nikki to get back because she was going to take us out to eat. We went to this udon place called TokuToku. Out of all the Japanese food I've ever heard about, Udon is really the only thing I've ever REALLY wanted to try. And so try I did! It was delicious! I had niku udon (meat udon....meat in Japan means it's beef). Here's a picture:
The white and pink thing with kanji on it is a type of Japanese pastry made out of fish. You can't really taste it, so I ate it. I was soooo full afterward too! Kaylie owed me from when I paid for our taxi, so it was a deliciously free meal for me!

I came home and relaxed for the evening. We talked with Nikki a whole bunch and sang the English One Piece intro (yes...the rap) a few times. It was great! I think we've decided that that song is our theme song now.

I ate a lot of my chocolate stash too, so now I need some more. Boo.
